  I’ve been fishing with Chris Taylor (Fisheads of the San Juan River) for MANY years. He’s an excellent guide, and he has put together a great team of guides and an excellent shop and lodge. I recently rolled into Navajo Dam for a solo fishing trip, and needed a place to park my drift boat while I headed into nearby towns to stock up on supplies for my stay. I went into the shop and asked if it would be okay for me to park my boat at the Fisheads shop while I was freewheeling. The very nice lady at the counter said it was no problem. I parked the trailer, took care of business, and picked the boat a couple of hours later. It was very nice of her to allow me to do this, and I greatly appreciated it. This is the kind of service that creates life-long customer relationships. Thanks Chris, for making this happen !

  With aspirations of spending a significant spring vacation with my son and grandson, I booked a trip with Fisheads for a day of guided fishing. My seven year old grandson wanted to catch trout fly fishing instead of bait fishing for bluegills. With a little trepidation I booked a trip for my son and his son. That was an extraordinary decision! The guide was everything that could be wished for-extremely knowledgeable, capable, and very encouraging for a “budding” fly fisherman. They caught plenty of fish! I heartily recommend Fisheads as a superior guide service on the San Juan. Additionally, our rooms were cleaned and well organized daily.

  Had a great time with the fishheads crew. I did two half day guided trips with Charlie and Marcus and could not recommend the two of them more! Got on some big fish, caught a bunch each trip anf had a great time talking to both of them during the trips. Book them and you wont be sorry. I am going back in April.

  Fished three days in early August and had a great time. Rooms are good, food was great with BIG portions and all the staff are real friendly and helpful. Matt was my guide for all three days and he was top notch. Caught a bunch of fish on nymphs the first day. Matt was willing to do different things later in day and next two days - did some jigging, streamers and fair amount of dry fly casting. Highlight of trip was 24 inch, 5 lb rainbow on dry fly! What a thrill!! Highly recommend lodge and Matt to anyone wanting a memorable fishing experience on San Juan river.
