  We had a great experience! Beautiful river, great food (they also accommodated my dietary needs!) and the guides are super knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, and it's history. It was so fun to camp at a different spot every day, we also tried the duckys which were really fun! Thank you to the guides. Y'all are wonderful!

  Last August, I was the recipient of a six day trip on the world acclaimed Middle Fork of the Salmon River. When initially offered to me as a benevolent gift of healing (after a life changing diagnosis and death of a best friend), my first inclination was to decline, fearing it was much too far out of my comfort zone. But after some urging and enticing proclamations of the river’s amazing healing powers, I hesitantly consented to this river adventure. Let me say, it exceeded above and beyond ALL EXPECTATIONS!!! Under the infinite blanket of stars, between the ancient canyon walls and surrounded by enchanting river sounds, one can’t help but feel incredibly alive, renewed and inspired! The Helfrich River Outfitters is a top notch crew of professionals. The most kind and talented guides aim to please and make everything look effortless as they guide you along the river, give courses in fly fishing (if you’re new to it as I was), and after every long day (but completely exhilarating for guests), they miraculously set up a new camp for sleeping and present you with 5 star dining in the most pristine scenery of your life! The guides are extremely knowledgeable about the area’s history. If you ask the rare question that they don’t know the answer, they find it for you. Helfrich guides are experts in navigating the river and rapids, and quickly earn your complete confidence. I enthusiastically urge anyone considering this trip to experience it at least once in your lifetime. Most likely you will get hooked and want more! A typical vacation for my family usually involves an island beach in the French West Indies or Europe, touring museums and historical sites. But a Helfrich vacation experience is like no other—- unique and completely life changing! We are planning to return to the magic of the Middle Fork just as soon as possible. There is no denying “a river runs through me” now! As a result, future vacations will look different—- and Helfrich River Outfitters will certainly be included! Thank you Helfrich and all involved—- from the bottom of a most grateful, extraordinarily happy heart!

  This is my second trip with the Helfrich crew on the Salmon Middle Fork. Love everything about it! The crew is very friendly and hospitable. The food is outstanding and there's always plenty. We got to see many hot springs, off site hikes to waterfalls and pictographs... so many laughs and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Helfrich crew! I highly recommend this trip!

  Another great trip with Helfrich Outfitters this year! Our group has now experienced the Rogue River as well as the Middle Fork of The Salmon with them and can honestly say that these trips have been some of the best times in our life. The Helfrich Outfitter team is a well oiled machine with decades of experience in making the trips safe and enjoyable for all. Excellent, experienced, caring, and friendly. When on the river, we feel like part of their family and not just clients. I highly recommend Helfrich Outfitters to anyone looking to experience a river wilderness adventure.
