  Our stay at Platte Creek Lodge was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Tom and Nova’s warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The lodge was cozy and inviting—an ideal spot to relax and unwind. Each morning, we were greeted with a delicious hot breakfast that fueled us for a full day of fishing on the water. And the fishing—what a time. The group had an absolute blast, hauling in plenty of walleye. The guides were more than just experts—they were great storytellers and comedians, keeping us entertained throughout the day. They knew the waters like no one else, always putting us on the fish. But more importantly, they reminded us to “enjoy the reel”—and the moments that come with it, making the trip even more memorable. After a day of fishing, we’d fry up our catch—fresh walleye, caught just hours earlier and absolutely delicious. In the evenings, the fire pit and hot tub were the perfect way to wind down while taking in panoramic views of the South Dakota hills. If you're looking to escape the daily grind, spend quality time outdoors, and enjoy great fishing with even better company, Platte Creek Lodge is the place to be.

  My 15 yr old son and I had the privilege of experiencing Platte Creek Lodge with our Grandpa/Father-in-law who is currently in a cancer battle. The scenery was gorgeous. The lodge is meticulously decorated and cleaned. However, none of that is as beautiful as the hearts of hosts Tom and Nova. Understanding our situation and how things change on a daily bases when fighting cancer they were super flexible if needed. They went out of their way to make sure everything was top notch. They have servant hearts and it shows in how they care for everyone as people first and the business second. Yes, we took home limits of fish but that was secondary to the friendships made. Thanks for the memories. God is good. Josh

  A True South Dakota Gem: Platte Creek Lodge is in a Class of Its Own Our group has been hunting pheasant in South Dakota for over 15 years, and we've experienced everything from public lands to high-end preserves. I can say, without a doubt, that our stay at Platte Creek Lodge in Platte, SD, was the single best hunting experience we have ever had. What sets this lodge apart is its incredible commitment to an authentic, wild bird hunt. After years of hunting various preserves, Platte Creek was a revelation. This is, by far, the most natural and challenging hunt available in the state. The pheasants were incredibly abundant… the most plentiful supply of wild birds our group has seen in 15 years. This is how pheasant hunting is meant to be. The world-class experience didn't stop in the field. The attention to detail at the lodge is second to none. Every aspect of our stay was meticulously planned and flawlessly executed. And the food... "meals" isn't the right word. We were served three culinary masterpieces every single day. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, delicious, and rivaled the quality of a five-star restaurant. It was the perfect way to start the day and the perfect reward after a long, successful hunt. Platte Creek Lodge has reset our expectations for what a South Dakota hunt can be. It's an unparalleled combination of incredible wild bird hunting and luxury service. We are already planning our return.

  Tom & Nova are such nice people. We have been going there for several years. The fishing is good and the scenery is unbelievable from the river. Their lodge is very comfortable and the kids always enjoy our time together at Platte Creek Lodge!
