  I booked this guided fishing trip for my son and some family members on Percy Priest Lake to feed his new love of fishing while we were visiting Middle TN. While I was unable to attend myself, everyone came back raving about how excellent the trip was. They loved Captain Bob, who was our guide, because he was so knowledgeable about the lake and clearly experienced in delivering results we could not have replicated as newbies to the scene. The trip was a hit, as my son (13) said it was one of the most fun times he’s ever had, and the fish were bigger than any we have ever caught in our lifetimes. We’ll definitely be back and can’t wait to take a smaller guided trip to catch some monsters on the Cumberland River. Also, Jim and Bob were extremely efficient and professional. They were so easy to do business with, which always makes a vacation feel like it should.

  I have loved striper fishing for the last 30 years and am truly someone who loves the sport and admires those who excel at it. I had caught a 30lb fish years ago and honestly, I just wanted to beat that personal record for myself. I did a LOT of research online, read reviews, looked at pictures, searched Facebook, etc. I reached out to about (3) guides as a result of that research and Captain Jim was one of those. First time I ever spoke to him, we shared stories, talked about his techniques, etc. He was very approachable and didn't make me feel like he was in a hurry to either book me, or get me off the phone. That, along with his experience and of course, his record of catching big fish, made it easy for me to decide. Jim understood my goal from the beginning, I was after one big fish. This being the case, I was expecting one or two bites, with the chance of a monster. This is what fishing for a trophy is like, I knew it was not a numbers game. We have had a wonderful time with Jim, enjoyed each trip immensely. He is a skilled Captain and can keep you entertained with history of the area, stories, laughs.....all while he is working his hardest to put you on the fish of a lifetime. That is the true skill if you ask me.....Jim is an honest, hardworking Captain, who tries very hard to make you think you are on a pleasure cruise, all while he is hustling all the aspects of getting on the fish. I also appreciate his respect he has for the sport. He takes great care in handling the fish as easily as possible and making sure it is released back to fight another day. So, to sum it up, on our 3rd trip with Captain Jim, we nailed it. The other 2 trips were incredible, this one was the the icing on the cake. I caught a personal best, close to 35lbs! I know there are bigger fish in that river and Captain Jim is the guy who I trust to put me on one of them. In fact, my wife and I are going back for our 4th trip in a few weeks. Great man, he is professional, caring and extremely skilled at his craft. I know who my guide is anytime I am on the Cumberland River! Thank you Capt. Jim!

  Working with Captain Jim Durham to book our trip was so easy and simple. So thank you for taking the time to explain everything to us and for your recommendations. Ron’s Rustic Cabins was a hidden gem to stay in. We had the most amazing fishing trip! Jeff Owen’s was absolutely incredible, knowledgeable, patient, and fun to be around. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and we definitely did! We caught some amazing fish and made memories that will last a lifetime.   Me and my friend took a trip with Jeff Brown for walleye he basically told us the fish where on fire, this was not the case but fishing is fishing . The only thing Jeff talked about was how great he was. That didn’t bother me a bit, he suppose to be the best 18 guides under this guides service I would hate to see the rest of them if he’s the best. what bothered me was when he started to bad mouth other guides that I had been out with before and it seemed unprofessional to me, Those guides are my friends and from my one keeper day, I don’t believe Jeff could even carry their lunch. I would not recommend this guide service to anyone after my experience with him. It’s all a pay check for them there is no pride in what they do. After the trip he posted my one fish picture day with a group of people I didn’t even know making it a deceiving post, Making it look like we wore them out. This was so that he could get the next sucker. I guess they’re hurting for trips. I couldn’t imagine why.
