What an incredible day on the Madison River with John! This was my second time fishing with him, and once again, he exceeded every expectation. Fly fishing can feel intimidating when you don’t do it regularly, but John has a rare ability to make you feel comfortable, confident, and truly enjoy the experience. His patience, coaching, and genuine passion for what he does make the day unforgettable. What really sets John apart is that he’s not just an exceptional guide — he’s someone you genuinely enjoy spending time with. The conversation throughout our half-day trip was just as memorable as the fishing itself. My 22-year-old daughter joined us this time, and she absolutely loved every minute of it.

We had an amazing experience with this fly fishing outfitter. John was a great guide very knowledgeable, professional, and excellent at what he does. He made the booking process simple and easy from start to finish, and the trip itself was very well organized. I took my son, who is very new to fly fishing, and John was incredibly patient and helpful with both of us throughout the day. He took the time to teach, guide, and make sure we were comfortable and enjoying the experience. He was attentive during the entire trip and made sure everything was set up and running smoothly. Highly recommend John and this outfitter to anyone looking for a great fly fishing experience!

If fly fishing is your thing, I strongly suggest getting in touch with John Kirk at Montana Guided Fly Fishing. We spent 3 excellent days together with John. He put us on the fish consistently. Always encouraging, instructive if needed and positive, it was an absolute pleasure to fish with him. Until the next time..

Very happy we went with John and Montana Guided Fly Fishing. The booking was easy and the follow up was great. The process was seemless and the day out fishing with John was perfect. The wife and i were both first time fly fishers but John was awesome in teaching and being patient with us. Highly recommend these guys we caught fish and had an incredible day.
